In the second act of John's gospel, we see Jesus making three trips to Jerusalem. And in these trips, we are confronted with the reason for which he came. Jesus, the very glory of God, has come to reach out to a world that needs his love and salvation.
In the third act of John's gospel, we see Jesus coming to the very hour for which he came. Jesus came so that he might be lifted up and bring salvation for his people. John focuses the rest of his gospel on rising glory of the final days of Jesus' ministry.
